Good Morning and HAPPY SUNDAY!!! I hope I am finding you all well this fine Sunday morning!
Alissa here to share with you a little more from my March 2014 mini book in my gallery this month. If you’ve had a chance to look at the gallery, you would have seen that in my mini I left the wood veneer numbers from the Blue Ridge add on plain.
After photographing the mini for the gallery, I decided to give those numbers a little love. There are 3 different ones in my mini and I used 3 different techniques.
1. Emboss both sides of the veneer in gold or any metallic embossing powder.
I covered both sides, separately of course, with Versamark embossing ink and then gold embossing powder and heated. Be careful when doing the second side, I melted the powder on the front a 2nd time and lost a little on my craft mat.
2. Ink both sides of the wood with metallic ink.
Because I am not very patient, and metallic ink takes along time to dry, after it dried a bit I coated each side with Mod Podge to ensure the ink was sealed in and wouldn’t rub off on the pages.
3. Paint the wood veneer with watercolors.
To keep the watercolors, or mist, from sinking into the wood too much, I sealed the plain wood with Mod Podge on both sides first. The watercolor then stayed on the top of the wood and I was able to easily create the watercolor look I was hoping for.
I’d love to see what you’ve all done with the wood veneer number clips in the Blue Ridge add on, when you start receiving your happy packages from Christine. Please share in the gallery for us all to see!
Have an awesome Sunday!!!
The embossing looks great! Love this little mini!
