Tuesday Sketch Day

Hello everyone! Happy February and welcome to this month’s sketch challenge! Suz here with you today along with my fellow lovely and talented Daisy Designers, Lisa and Piradee who are sharing their takes on this month’s sketch design. Without further ado, here is the sketch:

February 2015 Sketch

You can see how Lisa translated the sketch design to her liking and kept the embellishment clusters in the top right and lower left while arranging her photo in more of a horizontal fashion. She placed her title work in the approximate location that is depicted in the sketch as well. I love her little added touch of black NeoColor/crayon that she added around the perimeter of her photos and larger embellishments. It really grounds her design and makes the page pop!

I see bits and pieces of the sketch in Piradee’s fabulous take too. She chose to keep her journaling in about the same place as the sketch and the embellishment cluster in the top right corner while implementing touches of the banners/flags in the sketch on the left and right. I am constantly amazed at the creativity and the variations in designs that result from the very same sketch!! So, so fun!!

I opted to take the sketch and scale it down to create a card. I chose to play off of the banner elements and placed my sentiments where the “title”s are depicted in the design. I also placed the embellishments in the approximate locations as in the sketch.  I played off of the arrow like pattern in that fantastic “kiss kiss” patterned paper in this month’s main kit and used its movement to draw one’s eye into the sentiments; the main focal point of my card. This card is for my DH, who currently has several changes/opportunities going on with his work. I wanted to give him a card of encouragement that would let him know I love and support him no matter what happens and no matter which direction his job takes him.
