Secrets of the California Traveler

IMG_9761I hope you all are having a wonderful filled weekend. I’m mixing up my post with some planning and scrapping. I had a mini vacation and went out to Los Angeles for some personal things I needed to take care of. I love Los Angeles don’t get me wrong (I’m there every month), but the second half of my trip was what I was looking forward to. But first I would like to share the Unboxing video of the month of May’s Cocoa Daisy Daisy Day Planner Kit. I am having some embedding issues so just click that link and it will bring you to the video 🙂

I was going to share with you how I set up my Yellow Original Filofax for May- but I’ll save that for next week.

The Central Coast is somewhere that I go to for relaxation. Pismo Beach is one of my favorite cities just to unwind, pamper myself, eat good food, and hang out at the beach. I was able to bring a special guest with me- my fur baby Sadie Buttons. We took Hwy 1 from Los Angeles and stopped by the Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo area for 2.5 Days then headed to Big Sur and Monterey.

Pocket Page Documenting is pretty popular, and I wanted to share a few tips how I create while traveling. I bring a few essentials with me, and I also brought the April Cocoa Daisy Day in the Life Kit and one of the add-on kits as well.

My plan is to transfer these at the end of the month into my “29” binder- which I’ll share with you sometime in the near future. If you have a little down time on your trip and you want to get started on your memory keeping creations I would suggest to head to Costco or Walgreens, which are the two places I prefer to use. I also use the photo app called pic-stitch on my iPhone to get 6 2×2 photos on one 4×6. This can give more variety with your photos which I typically use.
With my planned days using the Cocoa Daisy inserts I am able to keep track of what I did and any special notes I may want to write down. That’s what’s good about the days on two pages inserts- which are the main ones I use every month. I also stopped at one tourist center to grab a few magazines and brochures to add to my memory keeping collection. IMG_9710
I know some of you are thinking “when I’m on vacation the last thing I want to do is create anything” but honestly 10-15 minutes of just journaling can make a difference. As we come back to reality to work, home life and everything in between to the to do list pile for scrapbooking and project life can start stacking quickly. It’s already the end of April!! I don’t know about you but I already feel like I’m slightly behind on project life- so I’m just going to do what I can when I have time and create here and there. Until next week!
