Hi lovely people!
It’s Rachel here, and I’m sharing with you some of my favourite spots in my planner and journal set up for October. I love the rich, deep colours of autumn, and this month’s kit, Flannel and Frost, captures these perfectly.
I absolutely love hedgehogs (I mean – how could you not love a creature whose babies are called hoglets?!) and I’ve decided to call this one Heeby. I love having her peeping through all the different clips and page markers at the top of my planner.
As ever, the #cocoadaisysnark is strong this month, and having this pocket card up front makes me smile whenever I open my planner. I pulled a few things from last year’s kits as well – the ‘Hello Autumn’ cork element being one of them.
I also created a shaker dashboard for my front cover this month – I always like to have something that’s plastic/ laminated to protect the front pages from whatever is in the pockets. I used one of the free printables to create the background, added stickers and then popped it inside some of the packaging before laminating it all to create the pocket for the sequins and die cuts.
Christine included this slightly thicker card for sticky notes – and I really like it! I’ve been able to streamline my inbox to just a decorated dashboard ready for sticky notes to be transferred onto it as a temporary holding space. I much prefer this to the paper list that I had before, because then I would have several pages with some items crossed off and others still needing sorting. This feels more efficient – and it’s definitely prettier too!
I had so much fun making the cover for the personal dori booklet this month. I used the tag with some washi and die cuts, added some glitter dots (of course!) and a glittery swirl before using the bakers twine from the main planner kit to attach it to the cover. This is sandwiched between the puffy leaf stickers so that initially, it did move around. However I quickly found that rather annoying and so I used another puffy leaf sticker to secure it to the front cover. I also tried something new by adding some hand stitching to the cover, and couldn’t resist popping some sequins on there too!
I like to set up some memory keeping spots in advance, as it helps to inspire me when I know that I’m going to be pressed for time. Layering some of the pocket journaling cards means that I don’t have to worry I’ll run out of space, as I can write on the page and the card.
Finally, my sticker folder for this month was also not immune from the glitter dots! I enjoyed experimenting with layering and using some offcuts of paper from the folder inside on the front of it – I think it’s come together really well, and it just feels so autumnal.

Until next time lovely people, take care, and enjoy your planning!
