Daisy Love

Hope everyone is enjoying this special holiday season.  It is such a magical time of year if we can just stop and slow down and notice the little things. Let’s take a moment to notice a new member at Cocoa Daisy. Bonita Rose.

Bonita Rose

Here are her own words:

“My name is Bonita Rose and I’m currently living in a cute little beach house by the sea in Ormond By The Sea in FL. That’s located between Saint Augustine and Daytona Beach. It’s a beautiful part of the country. I’m married to the love of my life, Greg and we live here with the cutest dog in the world. Her name is Angel.
In mid October 2012, we went on an adventure and moved from Fargo, ND to the East Coast of Florida. To live by the sea. I am a mother to my two daughters, Sara and Bethany, both in their 20s – they are the other loves of my life. Sara is currently working and living on her own in Winnipeg, Canada and my youngest, Bethany – is currently working there and attending University part-time.

I’ve always been a creative soul. A Renaissance soul. I’ve loved paper-crafting since long before my children were born over 20 years ago. I’m a firm believer in real mail, snail mail, happy mail, and believe in using some of my stash and paying it forward and blessing others through the mail. I love anything paper. It’s true.
Some of my other interests are photography, writing, blogging, planners, journal writing, gift-wrapping and packaging, beading, art journaling, and jewelry design. Since moving to the beach over two years ago, my love of photography has just grown. When you are surrounded with so much beauty, it’s easy to run for your camera and take those beautiful shots. I’m growing more in my photography and learning more every day.

I am an inspirer. I believe in empowering and encouraging other women. I believe my life can make a difference in this big big world. I love my Bible and believe Jesus is Lord. Every day, I live my life with one thing in mind: Who can I be a blessing to today?”

I have asked her some questions to get to know more about her.

what talent would you most like to have?
I think I’d love to be really good at brush script or caligraphy. I so admire the people that write in such beautiful script. I know it’s something I can learn, but sometimes, I ask myself, do I need to buy even more craft supplies?? 😉 Not sure my hubby would agree. You know how it is girls.

favorite quote that describes yourself or your life right now?
Be Bold. Be brave. Be you.
This kind of sums up me an my life. Where I’m at right now. I’ve always never had a problem speaking up, being bold. I hate injustice. I want to always be bold and self-confident. Being brave. Yes, in so many areas. And being me. Yes. Too often, we get lost in people-pleasing, and lose the person we are. This year, I’m looking forward to being more INTENTIONAL and being more of the real me. In all I do.

what is a quality you most like in a woman?
The quality I most like in a woman is a woman that is self-confident in who she is. A woman that doesn’t feel threatened by other women/friends. Too many women struggle with self-esteem and seem to always be comparing themselves with others. Such a trap. I admire women that are strong and secure in their own shoes. And are free to love others for their differences. We’re all unique. Time to celebrate that in my book. We all don’t need to be the same.

What is on your mind lately? or what is changing in your mind lately?
My one little word for this New Year. I’ve chosen INTENTION. I want to live my life more intent. More balanced. Last year, my life got a little off balance, and this year in 2015, I want to really guard the quality of my life and what and who I allow in it. We are only given 100 years or so if we’re lucky to live our lives here. I want to make my life matter, count for more. This year I’m going to try harder. Try harder not to be pulled in a way where my life is off kilter. It can be so easy to do. We do this and that, and other really important parts of our lives suffer. I’m going to try to live my life this New Year more with my eyes wide open.

Where do you find/get your strength?
I get my strength from my faith in God and my personal relationship with Jesus. God and His Presence has been there for me through some really hard times. I wouldn’t have made it if not for my faith in Him. He truly is there and ready to help, if only we truly believe in Him. His Word is truth. I also find and get my strength from positive role models in my life, great autobiographies that I’ve read, and positive email and quotes I read in my inbox daily. I guard my life as to what and who I allow in it. I don’t allow negative, drama, hurt, and self-seeking. I try to live my life selfless and grace-filled, as Christ did when He walked the planet. Not always easy, but I try. And I know for Him, that’s enough.
