Daisy Love April

Good morning everyone!!

I have been so inspired to create the past month.  This last kit was really whimsical and quirky and it fit me so well.  I really enjoyed scrapping and even spent several nights staying up late to create.  That is not normal for me!  I think I was not the only one.  There is a lot in the gallery this month that inspires and delights!  Before I share some of my gallery favorites, I wanted to highlight one of our members. This month it’s Dana Kogod or clickinincali as she is known on the message board and gallery.

I really enjoy her work and wanted to share a bit about her with all of you.

In her own words:

Hello! I’m Dana, a Jersey girl who moved to South Florida at 25 and where I met my husband of 20 years. I could not handle the heat, (of the weather…not my husband) so I headed to North Georgia where my passion for photography truly began. Living with the beauty that surrounded me everyday, I knew I had to capture it. I loved having all 4 seasons, but the bugs are the size of a small child, and the winters were so grey and gloomy, so when a chance to move to Beverly Hills California came up we jumped at the opportunity to live somewhere different and where the weather is honestly pretty much perfect everyday.

My “creativity” over the years has been mainly in photography. Being the Mom to a beautiful teenage daughter and two adorable fur babies, they are the main focus of my photography. Though I have tried many crafts, I’ve always found photography to be my passion. In January of this year, I was on Instagram and came across a scrapbook layout by the fabulous Denise Morrison that just intrigued me so much I ended up going right on the computer and signing up for the Cocoa Daisy Kit. I was like a kid in a candy store when that box with the big flower on it showed up at my door. I am in the process of finding my true scrapbooking style and technique, but now my passion of photography with my new paper and embellishment passion has been the cherry on top and I look forward to catching up and creating with Cocoa Daisy Kits, and the thousand of photos I have taken over the years.

My “dream” is to someday buy and old farmhouse in a small town, and update it without losing it’s charm. There is just something about old homes that tug at my heart. I dream of having my own photography-scrapbooking room with a very old distressed wood table and a huge shiny crystal chandelier above it. I love old rustic and glamour decor, it may be from living in a small town in Georgia and the city life of Beverly Hills, but whatever the reason its a dream I hope to live out someday.

I believe in smiling always, even though it causes wrinkles.
I believe in always following your passion (unless it will get you arrested)
I believe its best to be kind to every one no matter how hard it may be.
I wish I could rescue every dog in a shelter or bad home.
I could live on coffee, grilled salmon, arugula salads and frozen yogurt…and I basically do.
I am a morning person.
I collect vintage cameras.
I don’t like noise, traffic or crowds (found that out when I moved to the city)
I don’t like car horns (anyone who lives in LA understands that one)
I love being a Mom.
I love anything lemon.
I love everything pink.
I love antique shopping.
I love CPK (probably too much)
I am all about Nikon.
I would love to work at Crate and Barrel (but I know I would never come home with a paycheck because I’d spend it before I got home)
I would spend everyday in tees, sweats and flip flops if I could (oh wait I do!)

Isn’t she fun?  Here are some of her awesome layouts.

Wow! Is all I can say, Dana! When I saw your “Hello” layout, I thought the same as Laura…..she must be on a Design Team or two (or 3-4). Your layouts and mini are stunning…..so much so I had to leave a comment on each. This month’s kit was made for you loving on the lemon and pink. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent. And thanks to Denise for bringing it to our attention.
