Are you stamping outside of the box????

Hi. It’s Lisa talking ‘stamping’ with you today.

Now, everyone always talks about ‘thinking outside the box’. So today we are talking about ‘stamping outside the box’. Sometimes you can look at something and use it for the purpose it’s intended, but sometimes it’s also fun to push your creativity and use it for another purpose to what it was originally intended.

I’m going to start off with this stamp set here. See the dragon fly with the dotted line….

I decided to use the dotted line stamp for my page here, but nothing to do with the dragonfly. Instead, I thought it would make a pretty edge to go around my page.

It just needed something adding to that yellow and the dotted edge worked really well. It just adds a little interest to what would have otherwise been a boring space.

Moonlee has also used this set of stamps here for another purpose.

To the rest of us, these look like clouds. But not to Moonlee.

To Moonlee they remind her of the wavesa on the ocean. She’s stamped them in blue and cut them out to add to her page. I love her way of thinking. What a great idea!!

So when you next receive a set of stamps, have a think and see if they can be used in a different way. It’s fun!!

I would also like to share with you a couple of cards made this month with the stamps.

Suz has created this sweet card. The clouds, umbrellas and rain is so fitting. Perfect!! I would never have thought of teaming up a sympathy card with rain and clouds, the two go well together.

And finally I have this card from Janet.

Such a sweet card!!  I love the edging to the green patterned paper.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our projects today. Remember to think outside the box!!

Thank you for the inspiration again! I never would have thought to make a border with the dotted line…..so clever. Love how you used washi tape to make a banner too. Can’t wait to play with the stamp sets.
