A new month brings fresh opportunities including a new planner set up featuring the My Escape Collection. You may be a more functional planner, adding bits of the collection here and there or using elements to compliment your list-making, highlight events or mark off events on your calendar. Or maybe your planner is a canvas for creativity and you love to add decorative dashboards, fill your pockets with pretty extras and embellish dividers. Maybe, your planner is a little of both! There is no wrong way to set up your planner and your style can change based on your needs and wants for that month. We have two more fabulous setups to share with you so let’s get to it!
Julie’s planner setups are always swoon-worthy and this month is no exception!
“Each month, my planner setup begins with a list. Just having the list written out and in plain sight makes it so much easier for me to make mini-planning sessions more productive.
My planner set-up is consistently pretty simple – an A5 rings that are perfectly complemented by the notepad holder from the planner add-on kit and zippered sticker pouch from the planner kit.
My first project is always a sticker folder because I want to take a photo of the sticker folder with full sheets of stickers. I love Cocoa Daisy stickers so much that if I begin setting up my planner first, there will be no stickers left! I used both planner and memory-keeping papers, along with a trimmed-down pocket card from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit, the flair from the planner classified kit, and the washi from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit. I tucked a few sheets of the notepad from the planner kit and the glitter dots from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit into the pocket and I’m ready for on-the-go planning.
One of my planner goals is to become a better stamper, so I decided to stamp all of my days of the week in June. It was an easy decision to make since the outlined alpha set came in the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit. It’s a perfect match for the New Chapter Alpha Stamp (still available in the Cocoa Daisy store). I personally like to set up all of my weekly spreads before the month begins. I made a clip/in pocket with the vellum from the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit to document our long weekend road trip. The wooden ephemera travel piece from the classified MK kit adds just a little extra.
This dashboard was so much fun to make. I gathered sand (and the tiny piece of driftwood from the beach) to make a “Polaroid” shaker. I reached back to May’s kits for the alphas and used the rub-ons from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit to create the header. I pulled in some die cuts, and half of one of the fold-over flip flop stickers, as well as the wooden ephemera from the My Escape Classified: Memory Keeping Kit to make my beach-loving heart happy.
Filling my pockets with the beautifully coordinated papers, die cuts, and glitter dots fills me with joy each time that I open my planner and catch sight of them. I added a page made up of circles die cut from the papers of the My Escape Travelers Notebook Memory Keeping Kit with some rub-ons from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit. There’s no reason that a planner can’t be both functional and pretty!
Cocoa Daisy does such a wonderful job of creating perfectly coordinated washi each month and I like to dedicate one of my dashboards to washi. I added one washi from my stash and the thinner map washi is from South Beach (July 2019). I topped the washi with a vellum circle and I took the letters from the May kit and colored them black with a sharpie marker to make them black.”
Pauline combines functional and creative planning in her stunning discbound setup.
“My meal tracking page is pretty simple: I use pages from the My Escape Planner Kit. I just add some stamping, clear stickers numbers from the My Escape Daisy Sticker Add-On Kit. To decorate, I added stickers and My Escape FREE Printable. The title is made with clear alpha stickers from My Escape Daisy Sticker Add-On Kit and a clear tracker sticker from the My Escape Daisy Weeks Sticker Kit. As there are 5 weeks in my June planner, I added a card from the My Escape Planner Add On Kit that I adhered with washi tape.
This is my gratitude page. I used some pages from the My Escape Planner Kit A5 inserts. I use my Tombow watercolor markers to add some color to my page. Then, I add stickers from all the sticker kits, and some die cuts from the My Escape Planner Kit and My Escape Planner Add On Kit. The title is made with clear stickers from the My Escape Daisy Sticker Add-On Kit.
This is my currently page. I use a dashboard from the My Escape Dashboard Kit. I include some stamping from the My Escape Modern Memory Keeping Kit and my stash to decorate and make some sections where I’ll write the title of films seen or books read. On the right page, I stamped the “currently” word on dot graph paper. During the month, I’ll add book covers, film posters, which I print in mini size on my home printer.
My weekly pages are obviously very important for me. I use a weekly list, using a page from the My Escape Planner Kit A5 inserts. I decorated with an element from the My Escape FREE Printable and some washi tapes. I use this space for my weekly task list. To build this page, I use a variety of stickers from the My Escape Classic Sticker Kit, Sticker Kit, and Daisy Weeks Sticker Kit. The meal plan sticker from the Daisy Weeks Sticker Kit helps me to mark the “meal plan” section of my week. On the right, there is the beginning of my week. I use some dot grid paper, as I like to have 2 days per page and to have 100% personalized pages. For the middle, I use clear stripes from the Classic Sticker Kit. I include the days of the week stickers My Escape Classified: Planner Kit and number stickers from the Planner Add On Kit. I also add some boxes for the task from Sticker Kit, and some decorative stickers from the Planner Kit. Lastly, I add some stamping and the flags from the Classic Sticker Kit.
I love decorating the other side of the dashboards. Along the page border, I placed a strip of washi and created structure on the page using elements from the Free Printable. Then I added the boxes (classic sticker kit and planner sticker kit). The title is made with a geotag sticker from the Daisy Sticker Add-On Kit, alpha’s from the Classic Sticker Kit, and a shopping sticker from the Planner Kit. To finish, I embellished my page with stickers from various kits. I use this page to track my online shopping by ticking the heart box when the parcel is at home.
One of the most important pages in my planner is the monthly task page. The page is from the My Escape Planner Kit A5 inserts. I use it for a quick day’s number reference when needed. It also a fun space in my planner to add some extra decoration.”
