Hello Daisies! Today I am going to tell you a bit of the story behind one of my recent pages that I scrapped using the Blueprint kit. When I received my January kit Christmas was just a couple of weeks away, and so that theme was in my head as I opened up my Cocoa Daisy box and sorted the beautiful contents inside of it. One of the challenges for me as I create is that I often love a certain patterned paper or embellishment so much that it intimidates me to actually use it, cut it or stick it down on a page. But I am learning that the pages and projects I love the most are those in which I reach for my favorites first and use them up!
So that’s how this layout came to be. I loved the exclusive paper- Blueprint studyhall- with the tiny triangles scattered about the neat geometric design. I placed that off to the side and then I poured out the glassine baggie of embellishments on it, to see what cute items were tucked inside of it. As soon as I did that I knew that this page was going to come together easily! I loved the look of the bits and pieces scattered around, and I had just snapped a winter ‘selfie’ pic and posted it on my Face Book page, so I printed that for 10 cents at my local grocery store and had the basis for my layout. So the simple designs I would offer to you today are these: grab your favorite paper and some embellishments from a kit or stash that you LOVE! Next, use them! The end result- no matter what you create- is bound to be one of your favorite pages too!
This finished page based on using the design principle of “using what you love!” is now one of my favorites. It’s a simple, one-photo page documenting my love for the Christmas season and all the details that make it fun to me, and I hope it inspired you in some small way today. You can still get this sweet Blueprint kit in the Cocoa Daisy shop, as well as some of the add-ons and/or the Day in the Life kit and some extra wood veneers too. Such a great mix of products for you to create pages that you love as well! I hope you enjoy the process as much as the finished products that you create! Happy scrapping!
One of my faves from you, Jody!
