Designer’s Challenge for May with Emily

When I first started scrapping, I did a lot of pages about me. Then I kind of stopped. I found this fun list of questions for journaling on Pinterest one day and thought how easily it would translate into a scrapbook page. Since the kit was called Here I Am, I thought it would be fun to scrap about me, so I posed the challenge to the DT and I was right. Everyone took a slightly different take on the questions and the results were fabulous.

So the Designer’s Challenge for May is to go check out this list and then pick one (or many) of the questions to jumpstart your creating. I was surprised at where it led me, I hope you’ll enjoy the journey as well!

If it makes you nervous to play along, take heart! I loved how Martha put it:

I was scared of this challenge because I just don’t scrap about me, but that list has some fun ideas & now I think I can do this!

Her end result is this sweet page full of vellum and flowers about how she is right where she wants to be.

Next we have our newest team member, Nicole, who took the prompt about nicknames to create this fun page about her dislike of a certain nickname. I love her sweet and playful take on the questions (cool altered alphabet too!)

Denise is next with a really unique way of looking at the challenge. I immediately came up with answers to the questions, but Denise decided to just ask a few of the questions here. Her page is rich with emotion and color, I think it’s a great tactic to take! She says:

Here’s mine.
It is an exploration of several of those questions.

what are you craving right now? I took it as not about food.
what makes you happy?
do you feel good?
who was the last person you had a deep convo with?

I didn’t really answer any of them. Just asked another question really.

Mandie made a list of things that she is right now. Although you may think your day to day doesn’t change that much, making lists like this are so valuable to recording who you are. And it shows you things do change 🙂 Pretty soon, Mandie will be a Floridian, so she can add that to her list on her next recap.

Suz made a page focusing on what she is still doing now, it’s a good way to see where you are going. Don’t you love that picture for this layout?

And finally, I did a layout based on Question #10 Do you have an attitude? Yes, lately I’ve had a very bad attitude. It’s mostly kept inside my head, but I really need to give it an eviction notice, so I did my page about that.

Thank you to the DT members that joined me this month, I hope we’ve given you some ideas on where to take this challenge. And thank you to Chloee of the blog, “and so she says” for these fun questions.

You have a couple of weeks (until June 3rd at midnight ET, to be exact) to create and share your entries here and on our MB thread. I’ll pick a winner and post her winning layout here on the Cocoa Daisy blog on the 5th of June. Good luck and have fun!
