Hello Daisies!! I am excited to be sharing the Designer Challenge for June. Lately I have been in a sort of creative funk. You may know the feeling – feel like you are repeating yourself and every page looks the same.
Whenever I get this feeling, I try a new shape – this month’s challenge revolves around using STRIPS of paper! We challenged the designers to use strips of paper in any way they wanted to create their project for this challenge and just wait until you see the unique and fabulous results!!
Denise took a pretty artsy approach and used a bunch down the center between the triangles but she says she “sort of got carried away with the paint“. I think it’s super awesome. Check it out:
Lisa played along too and used strips to build a pattern on one side of her page!! She also used stamps in a strip to accentuate the photo so nicely. And check out that frame around the edge of the page, a thin band resembling strips around the edge !
Ashley was inspired using this challenge! This is what Ashley had to say:
I used strips of paper on three of my projects this month…most in very small ways, but thinking about this challenge motivated me to add them in and I love the extra detail they add to the pages.
I used a CD cut file to make an ampersand card, and I used cut-off strips to fill in the cut out shape.
I love that idea Ashley!
Next is Martha who wove strips of paper to create the base of her layout! What a cool effect adding bits of pops of color throughout the page!
Lastly is my page, using basic strips of paper down the center of my page, which is something I rarely do.
Thanks to my fellow teammates who have played along with me today! I am inspired by your ideas and hope you are too!
You have a couple of weeks (until July 2nd at midnight ET, to be exact) to create and share your entries here and on our MB thread. We’ll pick a winner and post the winning layout here on the Cocoa Daisy blog on the 3rd of July. Good luck and have fun!
