Hello. It’s Lisa here today having fun with the Sew Easy Template that comes with the July Kit this month.
I thought that it would be fun to sew these words from the template around my photo. It’s quite a large photo. 5×7” so you can see that the words are quite a decent size.
I wanted to share a couple of tips with you though to show you how I found it easier to use the template. When I first used it I punched through the teeny holes and sat back and just saw a mass of holes before me and it just looked so confusing and I couldn’t make out the words at all.
So I did this.
Placing a craft mat under my LO, I taped the template to my page so it couldn’t move (using repositional tape). I then used a paper piercer to pierce through. This has to be my favourite tool of all times.
I then took the paper piercer once again and re-pierced the holes to make them larger and more visible. Using the template as guidance I then joined up the dots with a pencil (like a dot to dot).
This made the sewing so much easier for me as I could properly see what I was doing.
It was fun to use on a birthday card too.
I have used this alot this month. I hope you will enjoy it just as much as I have : )
Oh, the pencil lines was a good idea! I didn’t do that and I had to refer to the template every now and then to see where the next stitch was going. I really love your layout and that card is sooo pretty! Makes me wanna create a whole bunch of hand stitched birthday cards!
Love that page, Lisa!!
