Wondering what to do with your Cocoa Daisy DAILY pages?

Hello my friends! Are you wondering what to do with your Cocoa Daisy DAILY pages? What a fun topic to discuss! Thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to come visit our blog, so we can spend some time together! It’s always our hope that you’ll be inspired by what you read and then creatively use some new tips in your own personal passion for planning, journaling, and scrapbooking!

Today I want to share with you how I personally use my Cocoa Daisy “daily pages” to write my own story.  When I think of putting pen to paper in my planner I ask myself, what do I want to be able to look back on a year from now? What story do I want to see written on the pages of my planner?

So…  go grab your favorite cup of coffee, come sit down and spend some time with me today, as I share how I write my story!

The first thing I do is begin brainstorming what different categories I want represented in my daily planner pages. Do I want to remember the news headlines for the day? Do I want to remember what made my heart grateful? Do I want to see a record of the weather? Do I want to see a list of the top three things I’ve accomplished each day…?

Give yourself a few minutes and “enjoy” the process of deciding on your own personal categories, after all IT IS one of the things we all love about planning… The personal journey of discovering what’s the best fit for us and our creative style!

For any of you that already follow me on my Instagram account you know that I have an innate love for bullet journaling, so you’ll see this reflected in my daily pages. Be sure to hop on over to My Instagram Account…oh, and don’t forget to let me know you’ve stopped by, it’ll be great to see you!

After choosing my different categories, the next step is to figure the placement of each. I chose to have the left side reflect my social media accounts, their focus and my personal media studies. While the right side is a summary of family & home; the days weather, top 3 tasks, self-care choices, grateful heart, and the news headline of the day!  Simply use white-out to cover over any current categories you won’t be using.

Now you have several fun options to create your headers for each different section. Personally I love to doodle and draw banners, but you could also opt for washi, stickers from the ad-on kit, or scripting with colored pens or markers.

If you choose to draw up banners and doodles, the next step is to gather 3 to 4 colored pencils that match the general color scheme of the designs! As you can see here I chose blue, two shades of brown, green and of course yellow for sunshine!

I love coloring as it relaxes me, so this is a part I truly enjoy each morning.  I color in each of my headers insuring to place the colors around the pages that will complement the overall theme.  I lean heavily on the colored pencil at the top and bottom of each banner, then lightly color in the center. To give a fabulous watercolor effect I take a large eraser and simply erase the center of each banner! Voila!!

Here’s how my daily planning session takes place.

First thing in the morning (with a cup of coffee of course)  I look at yesterday’s daily and check mark my completed tasks, then place a migrating ARROW to those that I need to move to the following day.

Next,  I draw up my New Day, coloring in my banners and filling in my tasks of the day!

Later that evening I will fill in the days News Headline, and write up my Grateful Heart Blessing.

Before going to bed, I’ll write up a quick scratch list of what needs to be accomplished for the next day and set it atop my Cocoa Daisy Planner!

It is said, my friends, “that our hearts are reflected in the pages of our daily planner!” What does yours say?  What’s your evolving story? I hope you’ll begin writing your story today and at the end of the year find you have an incredibly wonderful accounting of you and your life!  Cause in the end… whatever you choose to write, however you choose to doodle, washi or script, you need to… “simply be you boo” cause… there’s no one else out there, just like YOU!!

So until next time, happy planning and have an incredible day! I look forward to seeing you next month when I’ll be sharing how I put together my cocoa daisy A-5 monthly view. Hope to see you again then!!

Hugs and Blessings,
Laura

In all honesty, I’m not a planner or journaling type of person but I really want to be, and need to be more organized. I joined CD planner kit to help with that. I love these type of posts because I would have never thought to include “today’s headlines”. I love the idea and will include it in my own planner. Thanks for a great post!
