Hello fellow daisies!
This is my first ever post on the Cocoa Daisy blog and I’m equally excited and nervous. It’s like the first day of school and you are about to meet all your new friends for the first time.
So! This weekend it is Easter and to me that is a nice weekend to travel to meet friends and family, so I thought I would share my TOP 5 tips and tricks on that.
1 SIZE MATTERS
How ever much you plan on bringing, bring half of that-tops! I don’t know if this is just me but I want to bring everything when I am about to leave the house, I have an idea for every stamp and every sticker. But you know what? Those long hours of planning I was dreaming about they rarely happen.
This is roughly the amount of supplies I bring this weekend. A couple of stamp sets, some stickers a couple of mini ink pads and bit of this and that. Things I know that I like to include in my planning. The coloring pens are also nice to have as my companion on the train loves to color and draw. Another great tip – multi purpose supplies are fantastic!
This is a good example on down sizing. I love love love my ATG gun! But it is more than twize as big as my little tape runner from Tombow. Everthing I am bringing I also have to carry around. And I don’t know about you guys but I prefer to spend my time on relaxing and having fun instead. Plus those tiny little tables on the train would barely fit the ATG gun and my planner.
2 STORAGE
There are so many fantastic and nice solutions out there but truth be told I often find that simple is the way to go. For example I do have a crafting tote but much prefer to use a canvas bag. Why? The canvas bag gives me free hands, I can place it on my traveling bag or carry it on my arm. It houses a good amount of stuff and I just over all like them.
Also I am a big fan of the little draw string bags that the kits comes packed in, they are perfect to use for coloring pens and other bits and pieces. I also like to bring an extra bag for ephimera that I want to include in my memory keeping. Bonus feature is that they can be hanged on the little hook above my tiny train table. My washi tapes I like to keep in a pen case or on a small washi ring. I found the pen case idea on the Cocoa Daisy planner fans Group on Facebook. Another thing I made this time around was a little envelope for my stickers. I used the exclusive Cocoa Daisy papers from the scrapbooking kit, they are nice and sturdy and I love the design this month. 3 ON THE MOVE
Trains and cars move so I usually focus on doing before the pen stuff. Sometimes if I know we are making a longer stop I use the time to use the pen. But generally I only play around with stickers and washi and such. Also in all honestly isnt’t that what is the most fun anyways?
4 KEEP IT TOGETHER
Technology is nice but I like to have a little section with all of my traveling information in my planner. Lists for what to pack and our timetables. It has happened before that I have forgotten to charge my phone and this way I don’t have to stress about that at all. Plus I am a planner nerd after all so I do enjoy making that section. This time I also made a little pocket for my tickets. I had a Daily page that I cut down to size, glued two of the sides and ta dah! Perfect pocket!

Great post Anna, I had to laugh when I read your first sentence on ……choose what you want to bring and then put away half of it away LOL! That is so true and …every planner girls struggle… I want to bring everything with me lol!
