Monika Wright loves it all!

The first time I “met” Monika Wright online, I confused her with another Monica and congratulated her on the recent birth of her new son. I was so embarrassed when she assured me that a new baby was very much the thing of the past. Almost as bad as patting someone’s baby bump, only to find out it’s not really a bump at all. But I think she forgave me because she happily agreed to be our April Guest Designer. I’m so glad!

You’ll notice there isn’t a gallery for her yet. We had major delays in getting all the products for our April kit, so most of the team and our Guest didn’t get their kits yet. I’ll be sure to update you when Monika’s gallery is loaded. I will promise you that it’s going to be amazing. I’ve long loved Monika’s clean and graphic style. She is going to do beautiful things with our April kit collection, 5 O’Clock! Here’s an image I stole from her Etsy store to show you a glimpse of what she does so well. Her mini books are always something I love exploring.

Monika is the owner and Creative Director of I Love It All, the online boutique {and blog} she founded in 2010. From the on-trend graphic typography art prints she designs to the charming mini books she creates, which include the popular 365 Things I Am Grateful For gratitude journal, the Alphabet of Our Love and other eclectic mixed media journals, Monika believes in the power of dreaming big. And taking lots of photos, which always makes her smile!

And here are Monika’s answers to our questionnaire:

1. What is your most creative time?
Since I work from home creating for my shop, I Love It All, all day long, sometimes I don’t have the mojo to create anything else. If I do get to squeeze in any fun time just for me, it’s going to be while the kids are at school. Once they get home, it’s a whirlwind of snacks, after school activities and homework. Sound familiar?

2. Share your current top 5 favorite songs/music groups with us.
George Strait is always at the top, he’s the King! I also like to listen to 80s rock bands like Journey, Tears for Fears and INXS. And the voices of Allison Kraus, Norah Jones and Patsy Cline are so beautiful. And I’m kind of partial to anything my two girls belt out while my husband is singing and playing guitar!

3. If you were in a Rock N’ Roll band, what would your job be?
I am so not cool enough to be in a Rock ’n Roll band, but if I were I would definitely be the person keeping everyone organized and on time…you know, like a Mom does.

4. Did you ever want to change your name? If so, to what?
I’ve never wanted to change my name, but Ido remember that back in High School I liked the name Gillian for some reason. I think maybe she was a character on the soap opera Ryan’s Hope.
5. If your life was a movie, what actress would play you?
Hmmmm, I’ll choose Sandra Bullock.

6. What’s your favorite accessory?
Hands down, my wedding ring.

7. How do you cheer yourself up?
Looking back through photos always brings a smile to my face, it’s an instant pick me up!

8. If you could have a luncheon with any three people (real or fictitious/ from any time period, dead or alive), which three people would you choose and why?
I’d like to have a chat with my paternal Grandmother and would love lots of really long talks with my maternal Grandparents sitting in their garden under the cherry trees eating homegrown strawberries. But in English…they were German and my German is not as good as it should be.

9. What food would describe your style?
I have no clue, I love it all and I’m not really sure what my “style” is.

10. What is “dressed up” for you?
Sadly, if I’m wearing anything other than jeans, that’s dressing up for me these days. I’m always surprised at how my girls get excited when they see me in a skirt or dress when just 11 years ago I was a corporate gal wearing suits and high heels five days a week.
