Can you put it in a pocket (letter)?

We found Katherine Maynard (kiggies5) on Instagram a few months ago and were so happy that she agreed to be our Guest Designer for the August kit collection, Hemingway. We find it so fascinating to see how she puts together pocket letters. Be sure to follow Katherine on Instagram, she’s got lots of great ideas!

Have you heard about pocket letters? They are all the rage right now. Remember having pen pals when you were a kid? Well, pocket letters are the grown up version. I’m pretty sure (correct me if I’m wrong) that Janette Lane got this happy trend started and it’s such a fun concept! Do a search on Instagram for #pocketletters, you’ll see what I mean. Who doesn’t like getting a little something in the mail!?!? And don’t we all have a little extra product here and there that could make someone else smile?

Hi y’all! My name is Katherine Maynard and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a wife, SAHM of a teenage girl, two boys and one drooly English Bulldog. Scrapbooking has been a passion for me as long as I can remember. I still have my sticker books…the ones with the scratch and sniff kind, yeah those. I’m a traditional scrapbooker, but I also love trying out new techniques! My current obsession is making pocket letter pages. You can find me on Instagram and Pinterest as Kiggies5. Katherine’s answers to our questionnaire will make you love her even more!
1. My most creative time is at night. I love it when the house is quiet and the kids are in bed.
2. My current bands are Ellie Holcomb, Hozier, Vance Joy, Counting Crows and Dave Matthews.
3. Well, I love music but I can’t play an instrument or sing! I probably would be the band stylist.
4. No. I would always spell out my name, with a “K” and “erine” and it’s not Kathy. 😉
5. Sandra Bullock, she is down to earth, funny, can be very serious and a great mom.
6. My favorite accessory right now are bracelets, lots of them.
7. I cheer my self up by being around my kids. They drive me crazy at times, but they know how to make me laugh and really appreciate how grateful I am to be their mommy!
8. If I could have lunch with anyone it would be my grandparents and Lady Diana. I use to spend my summers with my grandparents and I miss them terribly. I would love to hangout with Lady Diana, I find her fascinating!
9. Massaman curry, one of my favorites! It’s warm, a little spicy and a little nutty!
10. Dressed up for me is something other than workout wear.
