Usually when I think about doing a “My Kit Is Here!” type post, I want to gush over all the pretty things that have just arrived in my beloved happy box from Cocoa Daisy, and I did that.  This month, however, I thought it would be fun to talk for a minute about what I do when I’ve finished a kit.  I truly feel like I finished December.  For my gallery reveal I had created 11 kitty Christmas cards, my first ever pop up card, three covers for my December Midori inserts, four pages in last year’s December Daily mini-album, five layouts, two Project Life pages, and prepped my December DaisyDori for the month ahead.  Whew!  In revisiting my kit this week, I decided that I could get a little more out of it, so I created 10 more December Daily mini-album pages (shown below).  Then I was done for sure.

What do you do with a kit when you feel like you’re mostly finished with it?  I like to go through all the leftover bits and decide how I might use them.  I always make a giveaway pile that I share with a scrappy friend or my sister, the art teacher (that pile was shamefully small this month!).  I make a little trash pile as well since I keep every last scrap while I’m creating, but don’t want to keep all the one inch bits and wrappers long term.  The keepers are then distributed into my stash.  My product packaging (tissue paper, glassine envelopes, and paper bags) has it’s own special spot.  This month I also made for separate piles to put away.  The top left one is the beginnings of a tassel garland project that I hope to do for Valentine’s Day.  Bottom left are the planner bits that I filed away in the planner Raskog cart.  Bottom center are Christmas bits that went into my Christmas scrapping basket.  Finally, on the right are things that I know will coordinate beautifully with the January Planner that I absolutely cannot wait to get.

Honestly, it’s really awesome and motivating to reflect back on how I’ve used my kit and then look forward to what else I can get done with it.  I get tons more accomplished with a little scrappy planning!
