So I had gone traveling in Australia during the month of June and taken lots of amazing photos. Every trip, I struggle to decide the format of documenting the trip. Should I scrap them in my Project Life album, should I do a Traveler’s Notebook, a mini album with pocket pages or simply a photo book? Eventually, I decide that I can unleash my creativity in a Traveler’s Notebook with some of the supplies in my Day In The Life kits I have on hand. Here are some ‘Problems’ that I face when creating in my Traveler’s Notebook. And I have the corresponding solutions for you!

Problem #1 – The cards are too large to be included in the notebooks

Solution #1 – I cut up some of the cards into smaller sizes so that they fit in the notebook. Sometimes cutting out a motif such as an arrow, a tag or a ticket. I use the offcuts to add thin strips of pattern into the layout.

Problem #2 – The papers in the Travelers Notebook are thin, how do I stamp in them?

Solution #2 – Actually you can stamp in your Daisy Dori or the Travelers Notebook. The papers are thin but their quality is great. You can use chalk inks if you want to play safe. Avoid dye inks which will definitely bleed through your pages. I also use some of my Versafine ink pads(pigment ink) that are a little old, so they are not as juicy.  So go ahead and play with some stamps in your notebooks.

Here I run wild with trying different colors and types of inks . A simple stamp such as the arrow stamp is perfect for creating a page like this. You can try using the star stamp or using all 3 of the arrow stamps that comes in the kit.

Problem #3 – I don’t like my handwriting.

Solution #3 – When I create in a traveler’s notebook, I like to keep my journaling minimal, unless I’m printing a page of words after coming back home from the trip. Well, it’s all about the “embrace-your-handwriting” thing that I’m still working on 🙂

Problem #4 – I have lots of photos but too little room to create.

Solution #4 – Add in a page protector! In this page, I stick the entire 6 up 2×2 page protector onto a page, an opportunity to add more photos into the traveler’s notebook. There are many ways which you can add in page protectors in the notebook. So go on and explore the possibilities! I’m sure you will fall in love with it once you tried adding page protectors 🙂
