Memory Keeper turned planner; How to combine the loves.

Good morning daisy family!  Wendy here today to share a topic near and dear to my heart…  Combining the love of Planning and the love of Memory Keeping.  See I was a Memory Keeper (scrapbooker) years before I ever tried out the planner world and I loved telling my story.  I also have kept planners for years, but they were very functional only.  Two years ago I had a time in my life when I wasn’t scrapbooking, I was still keeping up in my Project Life album, but I needed to get creative in a smaller place and so I took out my Happy Planner and got to work.

My Happy Planner doesn’t look like a planner other than the calendar that is on the page, my HP looks more like a highly decorated diary with pictures and DITL cards thrown in to add to the love.  For me as I transitioned from a Memory Keeper to a planner this meant still telling my story, but adding in more dates/times and using a different platform to tell my story.

Take a look as I merge Memory Keeping and Planning into a functional style that fits me…

My next way I have combined my love of Memory Keeping and the planner world was to begin to tell my story in my Traveler’s Notebook.  Again, a smaller platform made for a quick and easy way to try another new platform, tell my story, and play with all the amazing Cocoa Daisy goodies that are created each month.  I really dove into this when I completed my December Daily using the standard Daisy Dori (you can see some of the process here, https://youtu.be/efzILzoVgdM)

This month I have combined my love of the B6 planner and personal rings in my Strings to Rings where I have chosen to tell my story in my B6 Daisy Dori.  The size is so perfect for writing in and it fits in perfectly so that I can journal, plan, decorate, and add pictures totally customized to me!

You can see how I customized my B6 planner here on my YouTube channel, https://youtu.be/PVWkLAeEnXQ.

I love using the planner goodies on layouts too, sometimes it is fun to stretch your supplies to a 12×12 platform; here I used the dashboards to decorate my page!  You can watch me create this page on my YouTube channel, https://youtu.be/q6YNxoqxhcg.

And I also wanted to share another amazing idea of combining the 2 loves, memory keeping and planning that my friend and fellow DT member Jennifer Bailey shared…

A pocket printer would be the perfect option for adding in these small pictures to tell the story!

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope those that haven’t tried Memory Keeping or haven’t decorated their planners yet will be inspired to try the water out, as it is really nice!
