dutch door in ring planner: changing things up

Y’all!

Today I am going to share how I turned my inserts into “Dutch Doors.”

First I chose dashboards for their sturdiness as my backing for the “front door” and the “back door.”

Then of courses I had to choose the, oh so colorful, week at a glance for my top! I will be using this portion for meal planning and appointments. I cut it to about 3 inches.

Then I cut it so that weekdays would be on the front door and the weekend on the back, and then glued them to the top of the pages as shown below.

Next I chose the back of the week on two pages back side for the bottom of the page. this really doesn’t require a paper trimmer. I just glued it to the front and back doors with the excess hanging off the bottom. I then went back with scissors and it trimmed off.

I put washi down the center to cover up the holes that did not match up with my planner. Then punched the correct holes with a one hole punch where needed.

Now for the “guts.” I used the daily inserts. To use the top portion you will need to cut the bottom off at about 5 and 3/4 inches. Then trim the top off at about 5 and 1/4 inches.

This is what it should look like when you are done.

Again, the holes will not match up so I covered with washi and hole punched where needed.

Hope you enjoyed this little post!!  I will have a short flip through video on my IG Story Highlights if you are interested. (@chippeded_in_time_)

Until next time!!

XOXO
