Watercolor Inspiration

Hi everyone! I love watercolor, and since Fresh Cut is watercolor-inspired, I am both scrapbooking about my art and using watercolor right in my Cocoa Daisy travelers notebook. The paper in this kit includes a design patterned with watercolor swatches, and I recreated that look when practicing watercolor techniques this week. Then I cut up my practice paper to use on my notebook spread along with the paper from the kit.

Even though my page turned out bright and happy, watercolors can be light and ethereal, too, so keep that in mind when you think about what best suits your own style. As I write about on my page, I am far from perfect with this medium, but 31 days of practice will be days to flourish and improve! A photo of my supplies reminds me of my choice to show up, experiment, play, and learn!

This photo shows my title–stamped with the versatile number stamps in the kit–and the way I labeled each of my little swatches. I added rub-ons, machine stitching, sequins, and glitter dots.

This shot shows how I incorporated some floral paper and stickers and lots of Cocoa Daisy washi to add to the casual, painterly vibe of my page. Fresh Cut is perfect for blending your own watercolor creations with those evoked on the elements of this beautiful kit! I hope I’ve given you some ideas. Please tag your work #cocoadaisy when posting to social media, so I can see what you make. Happy scrapping!
