Creating with strips of paper or mixed media. | South Beach

Hello lovely Daisies, it’s Kylie with you all today and together with Candy and Kristine, we are sharing some pretty TN pages. We’ve been working with the lovely July, “South Beach” kits and have kept to a theme of creating with either paper strips or mixed media.Let’s take a look :-

First up is Kristine with a cute page layout featuring strips of paper and of one very cute Kitty! She writes :-

When I saw this printed page in the Simple Dori, with its overlapping circles and grid background, I knew I wanted to extend that theme to my layout on this spread. I cut strips from papers with the same colors, adding just a touch of blue and black and white for contrast. Some punched circles and a couple of die cuts completed this project.

Next up is Candy with a beautiful layout focusing on paper strips that she has created. She writes-

I had so much fun working on this layout using a mix of products from the TN and Pocket Kits. First, I cut up paper strips in different widths and lengths and put them down to create a background. Next, I layered down some photos from a beach trip I took last summer. Then I layered down some die-cuts to finish the layout. Last, I put down a 3×4 card on the opposite page talking about my Summer Favorites! The paper strips add so much to a layout and it is so easy and fun to do!

I couldn’t decide between strips of paper or mixed media so I decided to work with both for my layout. I added some stencilling to one side and layered over my strips of paper. These have been cut to different widths and lengths as well as being run through my sewing machine to add a stitched highlight to them.It really added a nice texture. I used multiple photos of the same size to the corresponding page and finished everything by layering some of the exlcusive die cuts!

I’ve also filmed a short process video so you can see exactly how my layout came together.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing our projects!
