Monochromatic Love

Hello Cocoa Daisy Fans,

Today on the blog, Kylie, Ria, and I have created monochromatic designs to share with you.

Ria says, “Whenever I flip through my old scrapbooks, I notice that my designs are mostly monochromatic. It’s quite rare for me to have a very colourful layout; I use 2 colors at the most. I love doing monochromatic layouts because it makes the design process so simple and easy.

I usually begin by picking out one of the colors in my photo. In this case, I decided to focus on the statue’s color, which is grey. Then I started gathering all the grey embellishments, papers and stickers that would go well with my picture. From there, I just move things around until I am satisfied with the way my layout looks.

This layout was created using the Farmer’s Market kit. I loved how versatile our kit was that even if it was so perfect for documenting food, it could also be used for other themes. In this layout, I documented our visit to Corregidor Island, a key historical place during World War 2.”

“Here’s a closer look. I looped in a piece of twine through the tag to add some texture.” A truly lovely design by Ria that draws the eye right to the sweet photo.

Kylie also used the Farmer’s Market kit for her design.

She noted, “I chose a simple black and white monochromatic theme, continuing to work in my August TN. I created a fold out sleeve from some of the Pocket Memory Keeping cards. It folds out to house a photo and I use a paper clip to hold the recipe card in place.”

I love the little extras in a layout. And Kylie’s stamped background is divine!

I created the first entry in my Reading Adventures album, choosing to focus on the blues in the kits.

I love the little icon stamps and the sayings in this kit and needed to use them immediately!

I love the little number stamp so much. It’s seriously adorable. Everything in the Reading Club kit is lovely!

We hope you enjoyed our monochromatic designs and look forward to seeing what you create!

XO,

Robin, Ria, and Kylie
