Why I love to include a ‘Currently’ page in my DaisyDori!

Hi lovely people!

Rachel here, and today I’d like to share a little about a staple in my DaisyDori set up – a ‘Currently’ page.

This is a way of capturing a snapshot of the things that you’re up to in any particular month – I first saw it in the MAMBI Happy Planner, and loved the idea of having a page to quickly record a few things when perhaps I didn’t have lots of time to do longhand journaling.

I recently got out my box of journals going back to October 2016 and reread most of them. It’s been so good to take a trip back through the past 3 years, and see how things have changed, as well as be reminded of the little moments captured within their pages.

My first Cocoa Daisy kit was in October 2016 (on the left above), and as you can see, my ‘Currently’ page was laid out very simply, with the headings written. I’ve nearly always used this first lined page in the DaisyDori – it feels a natural place for it to be.

I quickly started to play around with ways of adding my title and headings to the page – I especially love using big alphas (and it’s even better when they’re already on the page, as in January 2019!) I also love using the labels and functional stickers in the Planner Sticker Kit and Memory Keeping Sticker Kit to make my headers, as they make the page look cohesive (plus – stickers!!!!!).

One of the loveliest things about having a ‘Currently’ page is that it tends to reflect the seasons as they go by – not just in the beautiful Cocoa Daisy artwork, but also in the things I’ve captured. When I look back through my journals, which I do from time to time, the memories that are evoked are really special, and somehow even more tangible because I took the time to write them down.

By now, I hope I’ve convinced you to give a ‘currently’ page a try in your own planner or journal – if monthly seems too much, you could do one quarterly, or however it fits with the rhythm of your year. But how do you decide what to include?

As you’ll have seen in the photos, I’ve used lots of different prompts which reflect my life – ‘creating’, ‘planning’, ‘reading’ are fairly consistent, and then I mix others in as I think of them.

Here’s a few ideas that you might like to use:

  • enjoying
  • looking forward to
  • planning for
  • watching
  • reading
  • dreaming of
  • creating
  • cooking
  • praying for
  • listening to
  • loving
  • thinking
  • trying

So, I wonder if you already have a ‘currently’ page, or whether it’s something you’re going to try out? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time, take care lovely people!
