Monochromatic layouts

Hi girls,
here we are with a new post!

Today Ria, Mel, Sabrina and I will show you our interpretations of monochrome layouts.
Each of us has a different approach to this theme but the result is spectacular in every case.

Ria tells us how she designed her layout right from the choice of colors!

I love working in a monochromatic theme. It’s by far the easiest way to create a layout. I chose the color blue and proceeded to collect everything blue from the Memphis Season Kit. I documented a special moment from our Shanghai trip last year. It was a difficult rainy day then but we chose not to let it dampen our curious spirits.

I especially loved these blue Alpha stickers. Truth be told , I tend to hoard alpha stickers and not use them but boy,am I glad I used them in this layout. The grid lines on the TN paper helped me space the letters evenly.

Mel instead chose a softer approach to monochromatic, let’s explain it directly to her!

My project features a “loose” interpretation of a monochromatic theme. I opted to use mostly muted colors with some colorful accents. Although I didn’t use a variations of one color as is often the case with a monochromatic theme, I opted to create a warm and inviting design use similar muted colors. I also repurposed packaging from the stickers that were in the kits, the soft color palette of the packaging was a great inspiration for my spread.

I found that this composition perfectly reflected the theme of peace and tranquility of my spread.

I really enjoy how colors can convey a sense of peace and calm. I hope you can see this transpire in my project.

Sabrina had fun with the blue color but I leave the word to her to explain her layout!

Hi, I’m excited to use all the blues that I could find in Memphis Season. I had this hilarious photo my son took last November and I wanted to finally scrapbook it. I had the perfect title “I am a scrapper in the wild “.

I pulled out all the blue embellishments die cuts and papers for this project. I also noticed that one of the Memphis seasons papers had a sort of blob shape, for lack of a better word , so I decided ti fussy cut that out of the paper. I also used another blue paper in the kit to mimic the same shapes. It was a lot of fun playing with shapes for my project!

I the added in some stamping, diecuts and a 2×2 insert inspired by Mel. This was such a fun and awesome challenge.  I love how my monochromatic project came together.

As for my layout, I started from the choice of the photo. This shot, made in the street where I live, had all the colors that I love in autumn, an explosion of red and orange.
So I decided to keep these colors throughout the project, choosing a page with the coordinated background in my simple dori and continuing in the same way with alpha stickers , discute and captions.

The only concession is given by the stamp used for the title and the date.

And that’s all for today, we hope you enjoyed these monochromatic layouts with so different styles.

Be creative,

Evy
