TN Tuesday: Stars and Snowflakes

Hello Cocoa Daisy friends,

It’s the thick of December here in the Northern hemisphere, a time when snowflakes and stars twinkle in the glow of the street lights and the warmth of home beckons to us. Today we are sharing beautiful TN designs by returning design team members Kristine Bryant and Odessa Reichel. Kristine is also sharing a bit about her memory keeping plan for 2020.

“This is my last TN Tuesday post, and it’s a little bittersweet! Even though I’m staying with the team next year, I’m switching formats – and I think a part of me will miss the novelty and ease of the TNMK. It’s so darned easy to work with, and the proof is in this family portrait layout.”

The red stripes complement the red in our clothing nicely, and the stripes and snowflakes give it a definite winter feel! The Simple Dori makes it so very easy to create something pretty in a jiffy – here’s a process video to show how this layout came together.

I’m so happy to have been able to use the TNMK all year, and I hope I’ve been able to pass along a few ideas and tips along the way. I’ll see you again in 2020!”

Kristine’s TN layout is amazing and I love the simplicity of her handwritten journaling page. Do you turn your TNs for layouts on the vertical?  Now let’s have a look at what Odessa is sharing with us today.

“I’m having so much fun working on a 3×8 December album right now and the Nordic Woods kits are perfect for it! I was originally working on this page in my TN but it worked so well for my December album that I moved it into there. This story is about the ornaments we’ve added to our collection so far. I’m really into ornaments so documenting what’s new on our tree is always important to me!

On the left I had so much fun layering snowflakes on one of the papers from the Nordic Woods Traveler’s Notebook Kit. I used the vellum snowflakes from the Pocket Memory Keeping Kit layered with some snowflake stickers from the Memory Keeping Classified Kits to create a snowy wonderland on my page. I added a simple journalling spot from the Memory Keeping Classified Kit because the page had enough going on and I didn’t want to take away from all the snowflakes.

On the right side of the page I added in a photo of the new ornaments we’ve picked up this year with some alpha, label and phrase stickers from the Nordic Woods kits for a page title. I used one of the glitter swirl border stickers at the bottom – I just love those stickers! They are such a nice way to add some framing without being too much. Above that I used a little card I had from ornament shopping with some journalling about my favourite ornament. I added some slab alpha stickers from the Traveler’s Notebook Kit. I like that the colours keep the frosty blue theme going on.

I punched a hole in the top of the card and used the beautiful silk ribbon from the kit to turn it into a tag. I love a bit of dimension! I cut down one of the papers from the same kit and adhered it to that to finish off the pocket.”

Odessa’s snowflake page is dreamy and we love how she included ephemera from her shopping trip.

We hope you are enjoying documenting your December with the Nordic Woods kits. Thanks for joining us today!

XO,

~Robin
