The Nordic Woods Trees

Hello!

We have a real treat for you today by DT member Jil Larson. She’s created several lovely designs in various scrapbooking mediums with a tree theme. Prepare to be inspired!

Let’s begin with a spotlight on Jil’s Traveler’s Notebook design with one of the tree pages in the insert. Jil shared this about her design. “The freshness of this tree paper in the TN was just right for my page about a Christmas gift my boyfriend gave his artist daughter. I used the phrases from the classified kit but I also broke into Noted for the awesome phrase washi–I’ll be using this a lot. I added the last of my bird stickers above the chipboard that emphasizes how much I love this photo!

The small stamps are great for TN pages. Here I did some messy repeat stamping with ‘the details’ stamp.“

Jil created a traditional 12×12 design by using elements and papers from the kit to create a tree which is the anchor of her layout. She tells us, “For years I scrapbooked 12×12. I miss this size, and so returning to it felt like coming home, appropriate for a Christmas page! I used lots of stickers to decorate the tree I made with pattern papers from the kit. My big embellishment at the top is from the Memory Keeping Classified kit, as are the bird stickers and a few other details. Since I love birds on my tree (and do a daily bird painting …project in December), these were perfect for me. Everything on the page was drawn from Nordic Woods kits, except the woodgrain background paper, green fabric circle, and small tree at the bottom of my title work. My design is a very loose grid with my big “small tree” in the center. In recent years, because I travel so much over the holidays, I only put up a little tree that fits on my coffee table. I love it, though. I’m all about Christmas trees and cute ornaments!“

“My title work draws on all the sticker sets in the kit, and I layered the title over some vintage washi tape from my Christmas stash. I also used that adorable gnome washi in the upper left and as an ornament on the paper tree.”

The eclectic mix of products used to create the Christmas tree is awesome! I can’t get over all the details Jil added to her tree and the white swirls from the kit are the perfect touch.

We hope you are enjoying the Nordic Woods trees as much as we are!

XO,

Robin
