Tic Tac Toe – August Designer Challenge

Hey Daisy fans and followers! Suzanna here today to share with you this month’s Designers Challenge. I haven’t seen this one done here in my time with Cocoa Daisy and hope that it’s something new to stir things up a little in the creative realm! This month we have a Tic Tac Toe board challenge. Pick 3 in a row; horizontal, vertical or diagonal and use those items on your project. It may be a card, a layout, your Traveler’s Notebook, it doesn’t matter so long as it falls under the category of paper crafting!

I know the design team was pleased with this challenge as there a number of them to share with you! More than the usual. I hope you are equally as inspired!

First up is Wendy! Wendy used the vertical line up and down on the right hand side; stitching, multiple photos and a DITL card. I love how the marbled exclusive paper from the kit resembles the lines of waves at the shore! Great colors for those beach pictures!

Kelly used a diagonal row and the required elements were bow, free space and stitching. The older photo gives the kit a more vintage feel. Kelly could almost have gone for black out on the tic tac toe board as she used so many more elements than those in the particular row used! I’m sure Kelly has an accompanying process video for this layout so be sure to check out her YouTube channel.

The left hand vertical column were what Kylie created with; a circular element, a paperclip and a bow. She seamlessly incorporated those elements into her page! That vellum with the gold birds make a wonderful background to showcase all those patterned papers and elements. Sweet, indeed!

Circles, squares and SnapChat pictures! Oh my! Katherine did an amazing job with her tic tac toe elements; she used the opposite diagonal and incorporated a circular element, free space and a DITL card into her project. The circular elements really soften the grid of all those fun pictures! Such a playful and fun page!

Moon used the right right hand vertical column that Wendy used but with such a different result! That’s the beauty of this challenge, you can create anything want with limited constraints! There are so many happy little bits and pieces to look at on Moon’s layout!

Lisa went with the top row…. Circle, mixed media and stitching. Can you see the stitching? It took me while but it’s there! That outer circle is handstitching! The circle in a circle in a circle is such a wonderful effect! At first I saw a cross stitch hoop but then it looked like a port hole. The effect Lisa created here with this challenge is wonderful!

Janet says she went diagonal with a circular element, a DITL card, and her freebie are the exclusives (paper, puffy stickers). Such a cute card Janet! I know that the receiver of this card will save this and sure feel much better with such well wishes!

I, too, used the top line; a circular element, mixed media and stitching. The circular element is an older Cocoa Daisy cut file from Ashli (miss you Ashli). Mist splatters for mixed media and stitching is machine stitching around the circles. I tried to wrap the leaves around the circular element too.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all these amazing examples and are inspired to play along. One randomly selected participant will win a $10 code to use in the Daisy Store. Please submit your entry via the comment section of the blog here OR via the Cocoa Daisy Challenges Facebook group here. I can’t wait to see what you create!!

This challenge will be open for two weeks and the winner will be announced here on the blog AND in the Challenges Facebook group.

Have fun creating!
