I have this month’s sketch challenge for you today. Here is your sketch!! It’s a fun one. Steph designed it based on Niru’s wonderfully sweet LO here for inspiration.
And here is my take.
I replaced the larger photo for a piece of patterned paper instead. I also moved my journaling from the left to inside my box.
I thought as I’ve used my October Kit to create this LO, I would share a couple of little tips with you.
Firstly, if you are anything like me and you find yourself loving both sides of the patterned paper, then find a way to use both sides. Work out what piece will be covered up and cut it out like this.
I just cut a big hole out of the back as I knew my large piece of patterned paper would be covering it up anyway. I really wanted to use the flowers on the back to do this…
So pretty. Much too pretty to be on the reverse. And because I do like to balance my designs out a little, I cut another smaller flower out and added it here.
I also played with the wide washi tape from the DITL Kit here. Oh how I LOVE this washi!!
I cut a piece off.
And cut a triangle out like this.
I did this 6 times to create this look.
It’s so fun!! It would make great bunting too.
So if you fancy playing along with this month’s sketch. Please add a link to your work and upload by the 20th October 11pm EST. The lucky winner will receive $10 to spend in the Daisy store.
Happy Scrapping!!
Love both of these LO’s! That big photo of Niru’s little adorable guy is so perfect! And Lisa all the layers on yours go together beautifully not to mention the fall colors!!
Thanks for the suggestions on using both sides AND cannot wait for my Oct kit!!
Cool sketch and great takes!
Love these layouts! Thank you for your process, Lisa! I will be stalking the mailman…..
