Hello and welcome to this month’s Designers Challenge.

This challenge came about as I fell in love with both sides of this month’s exclusive Cocoa Daisy papers. Don’t you just hate it when this happens?!! So I decided that there was only one thing for it…I had to use both sides, I just could not choose. That’s when I decided to reach for my old trustee square punch and create a grid design. This way I could enjoy both sides of the pretty papers. Fab right?!

This is when I thought how much I enjoy creating with squares and rectangles. There’s something very pleasing to the eye. It’s neat and tidy, but you can still add the fun stuff to jazz the design up if you want.

So your challenge this month is to create with squares and rectangles. 

I also used one of the chipboard frames from the kit. It was dark brown which was a little too strong in colour for my page, so I sanded it down and it fitted just great.

Anna has played along with me and created this LO for us, also using the October Kit.

Anna made rectangles with her patterned papers and then created squares using a stencil and gesso. I love this! Such a great design.
