Odessa here with some pocket page inspiration to get those past kits all used up! I have a bit of catching up to do in my weekly album which is a great time to go into those past kits. I settled on a summer page which had me focusing on summer kits to make the page.

I always start my pocket pages by picking out journal cards. I found some really great ones for this page. I had a few smaller photos that I mounted on journal cards which let me use a few more. This page is full of camping photos so it was nice to get some subtle camping elements in there via journal cards – water, stars, wood and moons with a focal card to get some journalling done. Once I chose the journal cards it was easy to pick out embellishments. I started by grabbing all the ones I liked and put together a kit of things I loved from past kits I felt might work. This page has a real blue-green overall feel which is a great base. So many colours go well. I decided I’d go for a more cool analogous colour scheme with more blues and greens as well as maybe some purples with the occasional warm contrasting pop for emphasis, like the circle photo on the gold star background.

Once I had all my stickers, stamps, washi, embellishments and more laid out around me I started by laying down some die cuts. Because they are so easy to move around I find it’s a great place to start getting a feel for the page.

I made this layered tag which was one of the first things I placed on the page when I started working. I love adding in tag elements to change it up. I put the tag down on the wood-feel cardstock and added some cute embellishments that I really liked. A lot of things on this page are from the August Memory Keeping kits. I loved how those kits went with camping pictures! To finish off the tag I did one of my favourite things. I folded some washi in half and used it as a faux ribbon in the hole in the tag because it just looks so bare to me otherwise!

Once I got all the die cuts in place and stuck down I started in with some stickers and word stickers. Word stickers are my favourite, I’m always so excited to see them in my kits!

Next up was the stamps! There are SO many cute Cocoa Daisy stamps! I used a few on some labels and chipboard stickers to add some more text to my page.

Next I started adding in things like alpha stickers (my second fav!!!) and journalling to round out the layout.

I give the layout one last look over for balance, move things around to make sure they are just right and consider it done! By sticking to my mostly green and blue colour scheme and keeping that in mind when pulling fav items from last kit it was so easy to put together this layout! I started with my pictures and then worked out from there to make a page in my weekly project life album to capture a great week in our life!
