Hello everyone! Suz here today to invite you to have a look-see at June’s Sketch, to look at what the fellow CD Designers have created with this sketch, and to challenge you to play along and earn a chance to win $10 gift code to the Cocoa Daisy Boutique!
First up, the sketch:
Inspired by Christine’s fabulous layout (Aren’t we all glad that days of needing snow boots are over? Finally!) :
Patricia had this take on the sketch:
and noted that ” I started with the sketch by turning it, and then the heart helped with the rest of the design.” Love that Patricia was inspired by the sketch by letting her creativity grow and meander into a design all her own!! {To me, this is my favorite part of the sketch challenge; seeing all of the different designers and participants’ takes on the sketch and how different they all are– from one sketch!}
Next up is Lisa who took a more literal take to the design. Love how she used the DOTW Mambi arrow stickers and her fun mist splatters here:
And Alissa’s take was very literal take on the design. Love her layering here and the bold and graphic lines against the floral patterned paper. It just pops!
And here’s my take:
To soften the look to my layout I added a bit of sheen vellum (*not included in the kits-from my own supplies) over the top of the awesome patterned paper Stephanie designed this month.
I chose to use the Mambi arrow stickers and some alpha stickers from the Main and DITL kits to create my subtitle but rotated it 90 degrees right (adding it to the top of my design). I kept my block of photos together in a large grouping and added a little bit of stamping and embellishments here and there.
We hope this sketch and our takes on it have left you a bit inspired to create your own take on the design. Link us up with your creation for a chance to win a $10 gift code to the Cocoa Daisy Boutique here! Happy June all!! I will post the winner here on the blog on Wednesday, June 18.
