Hello Daisies, Martha here sharing a quick, fun technique I used on one of my layouts created with October’s Crabtree Falls add-on.

For this project I printed my picture on a page from a vintage Girl Scout Handbook that I had picked up for .25 at a local thrift store.  I loved the vintage look of the paper and the theme of the page from the book worked perfectly with the picture of my daughter on a nature hike.  I know not everyone is comfortable tearing pages from a book, but this Handbook was in poor condition when I purchased it so it was the perfect excuse to repurpose it and save what I could.

When choosing a page to use, make sure you find one with enough negative space to accommodate your photo.  The page I used does have lines running through it, but once the picture was printed on it they faded into the design.  I print most of my pictures at home so I created a canvas in Photoshop the size of my book page, resized my photo to fit the page and ran the page through my printer. Easy peasy and I love that it is one of a kind!

Have you ever used a book page on a project?  If you don’t have a printer at home, you can still use book pages in other ways…try using a page layered with your patterned paper or use your punches to create one of a kind embellishments.  get creative and have fun!
