Tips and Tricks with Kelly with Video Link

Hey there Daisies! I hope that you have been enjoying your kits this month. Today I am going to show you how to create a long title with the alphas that were included in both of the kits. It was alpha heaven with this kit!! I thought it would be fun to create a super long title and incorporate all of the different alphas for a fun and playful page.

I found the quote on Pinterest and decided which words that I wanted to highlight first with the gold alphas from My Mind’s Eye. It made sense to me for Pineapple and Crown to be spelled out in the gold letters. I did not have enough P letters, so I chose an R, cut it into a P, and placed it in the beginning of the word so that it would be difficult to notice that I cut the alpha. I hope that makes sense! Placing the words on wax paper allowed me to position my title down the page, so that I could see the placement and decide which letters I wanted to use for the rest of the quote.

Next I decided that I wanted to focus on the “be sweet” words in the quote using the Pinkfresh script letters. By placing them on the wax paper, it was easier to determine that I needed to have another word with these alphas, and the word “tall” was a logical choice. After I figured out these words, the rest were very easy to place. The green tile letters make spelling out several words extremely easy since there are several of each letter. To add some interest and variety I spelled out “and” with the striped, colorful letters from My Mind’s Eye. In using those letters it helped to pull out the colors in the photo mat to the title, however I could have easily used either the green tile letters, or the yellow Evaliscious letters instead.  The yellow Evaliscious  alphas rounded out the title nicely.

The embellishments were kept to a minimum since the title and the die cut were big focal points on this page. I have included a link to my process video if you’d like to see how I colored the pineapple and built the page. I hope that this inspires you to use these fun alphas with the kit this month!
