Mixing the media

Hi there! I am sharing some tips and tricks on how to create a mixed media background today. I used a mix of the October and November kits. The first thing I did was to tear some pieces of the gorgeous paper that Stephanie designed for the October kit.

I attached them to the page using my sewing machine, leaving the threads hanging.

Next, I added gesso on top of the papers and threads. I used a palette knife and a stencil and also smeared some of the gesso out outside of the stencil.

When the gesso was dry, I splattered some yellow mist and some pink Glimmer Glaze over my page.

At this point, I was happy with my background and I started pulling out bits and pieces from the November kit, to match with the background and my photo of Alva and her pierced ear. I used some of the pretty washi tape from the Nov add ons and also some embellishments from the Day in the life kit. The last thing I did was to stamp my title, using the fabulous skinny alpha.

And that was my process! 🙂 I really miss doing the Project Art posts, and it felt good to get a bit messy again, taking photos along the way. I hope you feel inspired to scrap! Have a wonderful day everyone!

I will definitely try this! There’s always one patterned paper (in a kit) I like but can’t find a way to use it in a LO
    Thanks
