What is it that inspires you when you create?
Is it your photos, a story, an image????
Today I have this month’s designers challenge for you. It’s a recipe challenge. I do love a recipe challenge. I like to make a little list and look around my stash to see what will work. This often brings me to using either items I had forgotten about or sometimes using techniques that are new to me or that I haven’t used for a while.
My inspiration today comes from the cherry blossom in DC this Spring. They were so pretty. We never realised what a big thing they are. Everyone was asking ‘Have you seen the Cherry Blossoms?’.
So I have combined this recipe here:
– tag or tags
– something non scrapbook related
– ribbon
– a stamp
– something torn
And I let myself be inspired by the beautiful blossoms. This is the LO that I came up with.
I decided to colour in the fun exclusive CD papers.
As for the recipe. I tore up the edges of my photos and cut out a couple of the tags from the Shimelle Starshine papers with the ribbon in this months kit.
Non scrappy is this piece of blossom that I added (not from DC).
And also a stamp from this month’s DITL kit.
If you would like to see this LO being made, I have a process video on YouTube here: You can see and hear how my page came about, how I used the May kit and how I tried out some new techniques to me.
Alissa has also joined me on this challenge today and took a whole different path with her recipe and made these stunning cards instead.
Aren’t they fun?! They really show off the papers from this months kit so well.
We would love you to join in with us. Feel free to create whatever you wish, it doesn’t have to be a LO as you can see Alissa used the recipe on her cards here.
You have 2 weeks to play and this challenge will close on Tuesday 31st May 11pm EST. One luck winner will win $10 to spend in the Daisy Store. Please upload your creations here or add to the MB here.
Thank you and have fun.
